floating lines at market street

One of my favorite buildings in Singapore and perhaps one of the least celebrated, known only for it's function as the only stand-alone carpark in the CBD.

What attracts me is the understated and timeless (if i may overuse the word even more) design, a quality which becomes more apparent when it is placed in contrast to its neighbours which seem to look like they are well beyond their expiry date. The clean lines hover among the office towers of the CBD held up subtly by tapered beams receding to the columns within. Its rounded edges defines the organic urban fabric which had been laid out since Raffles' time.I also like the purity and altruism of its function. It is nothing more than a carpark and a few shops with no hidden agenda, sitting there to serve not itself but the buildings around it.
